Sporting Liberties CLG

Sporting Liberties is a not-for-profit organisation campaigning to address the severe lack of green and recreational space for children in Dublin’s South West Inner City. The organisation has been active for over a decade, advocating for accessible sports facilities and community spaces in the Liberties area of Dublin 8. It works to create brighter futures through access to sport, education, and safe spaces for every child in the area. Sporting Liberties has long advocated for pitches at St. Teresa’s Gardens and the Marrowbone Lane depot, and Dublin City Council has committed to both sites. The organisation also seeks existing community spaces for physical and cultural activities. It commissioned an independent report on the social and economic conditions facing young people in the South West Inner City, covering education, employment, income deprivation, and access to physical activity. The organisation accepts donations to support its mission.
