Wexford Local Development

Wexford Local Development is a County Wexford-based organisation that delivers a suite of interlinked programmes on behalf of local and national Government. Its core mission is to create a positive impact across the county by promoting employment, fostering inclusion, supporting enterprise and tackling inequality for individuals, communities, enterprises and social enterprises throughout the life-cycle.

The agency runs a variety of specialist initiatives, from the free 21-week ComMUniversity courses that give participants access to genuine third-level learning, to community-work workshops and the Cornmarket Project that bring together local stakeholders. Its work is underpinned by the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), co-funded by the Irish Government's Department of Rural and Community Development and the European Social Fund Plus, ensuring robust support for skills development, stress-management programmes for refugees and creative community-learning projects.
