Company Description

Ballycanew-Ballyoughter Community Development Association (BBCDA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the historic village of Ballycanew, situated 7 km south of Gorey in North Wexford. The association manages the local community centre, organises a range of activities-from Wednesday evening games of Scooch and table-tennis to summer camps for children at The Hive-and champions improvements to village infrastructure, such as the recent foot-path upgrades that provide safer routes for residents and visitors alike.

A key milestone for BBCDA is the award of Ireland's first plastics innovation hub grant, positioning the village as a pioneer in sustainable manufacturing and attracting further investment to the area. The association's work is underpinned by funding from the Department of Rural & Community Development and the EU Recovery Instrument, reflecting its role in delivering EU-backed rural development programmes. Through annual reports, community events and strategic projects, BBCDA serves the people of Ballycanew and the wider Wexford region, fostering a vibrant, inclusive and forward-looking community.
