Skellig Boat Tours Ltd

Skellig Boat Tours Limited is a family‑run adventure company that ferries visitors from Derrynane Harbour in County Kerry to the iconic Skellig Islands. Led by second‑generation skipper John O’Shea, whose roots run deep in the local maritime heritage, the business offers daily departures that showcase the rugged beauty of Kenmare Bay and its surrounding islands.

The core experience is a 2½‑hour stopover on Skellig Michael, the 1,500‑year‑old monastic settlement recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the return leg guests are treated to close‑up views of Little Skellig, home to more than 27,000 breeding pairs of gannets – the world’s second‑largest gannet colony – and, when luck permits, sightings of playful dolphins. In addition to the flagship Skelligs landing trips, the company provides eco‑tours of the islands, Bull Rock excursions, and specialised whale and dolphin‑watching outings. Gift vouchers are available year‑round and can be redeemed for any of these tours.

Skellig Boat Tours combines expert local knowledge with a warm, personable service, delivering an unforgettable journey for tourists, nature lovers and heritage enthusiasts alike.
