Great Island Theatre CLG

Great Island Theatre is a community-led project restoring a derelict historic hall into a permanent community theatre for Cobh and the Great Island. Its future home is the Old Parochial Hall, which has been secured and held in trust, and the company is raising funds to complete the purchase and transform the building into a fully functioning theatre. The theatre will seat 100 people, with approved parking in the nearby Cathedral Car Park, and will support performances including drama, music, dance, spoken word and community events. The space will include a fully equipped stage with professional lighting and sound, an entrance on Roches Row, and accessible changing rooms and facilities. The company’s mission is to advance the performing arts on Great Island by giving local groups a permanent home to create, perform and connect.
