Askamore Childcare CLG

Askamore Muintir Na Tire Community Council is a not-for-profit organisation that manages the Askamore Community Centre, providing a vibrant hub for social, cultural and recreational activities in the heart of County Wexford. The council oversees the community hall and activity centre, making the space available for everything from art exhibitions and music performances to local history events and social dances. Regular programmes include evening courses such as herbal medicine, willow weaving, DIY for ladies, furniture restoration and flower arranging, as well as community-led initiatives like the "Big Breakfast" and fundraising table quizzes.

In addition to hosting events, the council plays a key role in developing outdoor recreation. As a member of the Wexford Walking Trails network, it has secured grant funding to create a new car-park and picnic facilities at the Shrule trail entrance, supporting the growing popularity of local hill walking. Through its diverse offerings, Askamore Muintir Na Tire Community Council fosters community spirit, encourages lifelong learning and preserves the cultural heritage of the Askamore area.
